About Conversation Street

Launched in 2012, Conversation Street is a weekly podcast for Coronation Street fans who want more than a simple recap.
Hosted by lifelong Corrie fans and couple Michael and Gemma, the podcast offers thoughtful discussion, informed opinion, and a genuine love for the show’s characters, history, and storytelling.

Conversation Street goes beyond what happens each week to explore why it matters – unpacking storylines, themes, and character arcs with care, context, and respect for the show’s legacy. Alongside regular episode discussions, the podcast features deep dives, quizzes, listener contributions, and special episodes that celebrate Coronation Street as a cultural institution.

Over the years, Conversation Street has interviewed more than 70 cast and crew members, including producer Kate Brooks, Gareth Pierce (Todd Grimshaw), Vicky Myers (Lisa Swain), Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgley), Brian Capron (Richard Hillman), Thelma Barlow (Mavis Wilton), Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Bradley), Amanda Barrie (Alma Baldwin), Shelley King (Yasmeen Nazir), Sally Carman (Abi Franklin), Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts), Millie Gibson (Kelly Neelan), Charlie Lawson (Jim McDonald), Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby), Connor McIntyre (Pat Phelan), and director Matt Hilton, among many others.

Conversation Street was selected as one of Coronation Street’s official 60 for 60 guests to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Street, alongside Joanna Lumley, Amir Khan, Matt Lucas, Lorraine Kelly, William Shatner, Sir Cliff Richard, and Jason Manford, amongst others. The podcast has a wide reach in the press and has been featured in Fabulous Magazine, The Mirror, Birmingham Mail, Yahoo, The Sun, MSN, Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio WM, BBC Radio Essex, Distinct Nostalgia, The Metro, Pink News, Heart, The Liverpool Echo, The Manchester Evening News, CBS, The Independent, OK, Hello, The Radio Times, and Coronation Street Blog. We are also a trusted source for Corriepedia, the comprehensive resource wiki used by Corrie fans around the world and even Coronation Street itself. We have also supported some of the charities featured in Coronation Street via donations and sponsorships, and 8% of our Patreon income each year goes to charitable causes.

At its heart, Conversation Street is about community – bringing fans together to share insight, emotion, humour, and appreciation for Britain’s longest-running soap.
